What are we doing on Sunday afternoons at Kingsbridge? Well, as individuals we are all very different - we have diverse needs and different life experiences. Some may have spent most of their lives attending church, some have experienced different churches- Anglican, Catholic, Baptist etc and styles of worship while others may be "new" to attending church and looking for answers to questions that they don't quite understand. We hope that these afternoons will enable us to spend time sharing experiences, exploring possibitities, questioning and opening some new doors. We are using creative activities, visual displays, drama and quiet times and discussions to explore a set theme and, at the end of the afternoon, there is time to share what has been helpful followed by a time of worship. The key word is "hands on". Everyone is welcome and anyone can contribute or just sit and observe. There is structure but it is in an informal setting -if that makes sense! For instance the theme for the January afternoon was "Being called"- after coffee we could chose from watching a short DVD from the Nooma series, an art group led by Jan Hamblin, the opportunity to reherse some short dramas/sketches or a discussion group led by Rev. John Beadle. Afterwards we all joined together and a spokesperson explained what their group had done. The afternoon ended with a short, informal  time of worship.  This monthly Worship Event (we haven't got a name yet) is for older children and adults although there will be a play corner for younger children. Once a quarter we will hold a "Messy" church which is aimed at families with young children and includes lots of craft activities, songs and stories followed by a short service and tea.

"Messy Church"
sessions are designed to enable 3-7 yr olds and their carers to have fun and learn about God. Younger children welcome.
